Being a huge fan of Jamie Oliver I jumped at the chance to meet the man himself and after chatting to him about the launch of my indie farmer project (and giving him one of my indie farmer pin badges!) he recommended I apply to become a Food Revolution ambassador and get involved on Food Revolution day on the 16th May (which I duly did!).
I also got to meet the host of the evening Sheila Dillon, presenter of Radio 4’s The Food and Farming program who introduced to me a number of really interesting farmers and food producers.
Cotswolds farmer and BBC Countryside presenter Adam Henson (who I had met once before at Jamie Oliver and Alex James Big Feastival in 2013) was on good form wearing his new Indie Farmer pin badge and invited me to stop by his farm on my road trip…
And last but by no means least I got to meet the Queen of British Baking Mary Berry…
