On Monday we got invited along to a cocktail party hosted by the Earl & Countess of Mornington and the Hunter Directors to celebrate the launch of the new collection: Duke of Wellington by Hunter Field.
The event was held at Apsley House (once known as Number 1 London), the home of the first Duke of Wellington to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo.
In typical Hunter style they’d thought of everything including a Field Hunter branded green carpet for guests to walk up..
Flanking the entrance were four rather impressive grey horses and Hunter models (wearing items from the all purpose equestrian collection) to greet guests as they arrived…
On entering the Aspley House you could see the new collection bordered by bespoke green hedging, which was quite novel..
Having checked out the new Hunter wares it was time for a drink, so we headed up the rather grand staircase in search of something to quench our thirst..
Luckily drinks on offer included Nyetimber English sparkling wine and Gilpin’s gin cocktails as well as selection of canapés from caterers Cellar Society.
Protected by a glass case you could admire the original Wellington boots worn by the 1st Duke of Wellington himself..
There were also a number of models on hand wearing the collection
Music was provided by Cellist Ben Davies
There were some rather fine paintings on the walls by the likes of Velasquez, Goya, Rubens and Van Dyck to name a few..
